Excerpt from the MV Times:
“The minute I put it on the wheel, it was almost like my grandmother was laughing at me. I tried pulling it up like any store-bought clay, and it doesn’t behave the same way. It took me quite a while to make a bowl. As the wheel goes around, you may have one thing in mind to do, but the clay will start to form itself. You have to just roll with it.”
The Vineyard Gazette Writes:
"Heath Widdiss is the owner of Gay Head Pottery, following in the artistic footsteps of his grandmother. He also uses clay from the Aquinnah cliffs and spins the red, white, brown and yellow colors until his pots are decorated with vibrant streaks. Several of his pieces are inspired by Gladys, who had a similar style."
